about us
We have been fascinated by the technical aspects of
weaponry for a long time. Of course we have seen many
interesting arms of all kinds, but we have always been
particularly attracted to the unique mechanical system
of crossbows.
After having spent a lot of time admiring the craftsmanship
of other crossbow manufacturers, we started to feel
like building our own crossbow.
The vision for the TWINBOW® did not arise following
the traditional ways of crossbow making but from the
challenge of seeking and exploring new possibilities.
First we determined that the well-known decisive factors
of a good crossbow could not be changed. The following
three factors remain of prime importance for any good
crossbow:
1. power stroke
2. draw weight
3. energy transfer to the arrow
At the same time we could not ignore the fact that
one of the biggest disadvantages of both medieval and
modern crossbows is the rather awkward cocking mechanism.
We decided to design a cocking system which would allow
all individuals, regardless of their physical abilities,
to cock a crossbow within seconds. We further established
that we would try to enhance safety and eliminate recoil
as well as noise.
Our goal was to make crossbows easier to handle and
therefore more accessible to all interested people.
It took our company, SWISS CROSSBOW MAKERS, over four
years of intensive research, continuous development
and countless prototypes to realize our daring concept.
At the ATA SHOW 2004 in Indianapolis we were able to
introduce the revolutionary TWINBOW® to the archery
industry.
The responses have been enthusiastic and it has been
claimed that the TWINBOW® is one of the most innovative
products ever introduced to the crossbow market.
We can safely say that we have succeeded in creating
an outstanding crossbow with the following main features:
 |
Unique and fully integrated cocking system which
can be cocked within 3 seconds. During the cocking
process the string is automatically centred allowing
an extremely precise and quiet arrow release without
any recoil. |
 |
The very high power development of the compact
four-limb unit is achieved by the superbly balanced
interaction of the two twin-limb systems. The average
arrow speed is 300 FpS. |
 |
Free shaft choice from size 22xx up to size 25xx. |
 |
New safety standards due to integrated cocking
mechanism and ergonomic design. |
 |
Modular assembly consisting of three easily detachable
units. |
In order to make the TWINBOW® available to every
interested crossbow user we now have created TWINBOW
2® which features almost all the outstanding
technical innovations of his predecessor but with the
added attraction of a more affordable price.
One of the most striking characteristics of the TWINBOW
2® is an average arrow speed of 370 FpS.
TWINBOW 2® will be available by autumn 2004.
Last but not least we would like to thank the crossbow
community for your support and acceptance of our new
technology.
Sincerely
